Super League Throwball 2023

Super League Throwball was an auction style volleyball tournament organized for the students of Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences, Mangala College of Para Medical Sciences, Mangala School of Nursing, New Mangala College of Nursing and Mangala College of Physiotherapy in Mangala Campus, Neerumarga Road, Mangaluru 575029 by Student Council of Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences and Para Medical Sciences.

Player auction was held on 13 April 2023 in the presence of the captains, mentors, organizers, and referees through bidding by 6 teams (Drona Catchers, 7 Stars, 7 Stunners, Firebirds, Feisty Fire Crackers and Yukthi). Each team was randomly assigned a mentor to motivate and guide the players through the tournament.

Ms. Yashwitha bagged the highest bid of 25,000 (Feisty Fire Crackers), Ms. Pavana 23,000 (Yukthi) and Ms. Varshitha 22,000 (Drona Catchers).

The tournament was scheduled to take place on 29 April 2023. The event was inaugurated by the Maters’ athlete Mrs. Rita. Dean Prof. Pratijna Suhasini G.R. Dr. Marie Elizabeth Pinto, Dr. Dharmaraja K, Mr. Karthik G Kamath K, team mentors and teaching and non-teaching faculty were present during the inauguration.

The league style tournament was Won by the team Drona Catchers lead by Ms. Harshitha and Firebirds finished as Runners-Up. Ms. Chaithra (Drona Catchers) was declared as Best Player of the tournament.

The event concluded with the presentation ceremony with Prof. Pratijna Suhasini G.R, Dr. Dharmaraja K of Mangala Group of Educational Institutions distributed medals, certificates and trophies to the Winners and Runners-Up.
